Financial Highlights

CCSS’s net assets increased $115,851 as a result of this year’s operations resulting in ending net assets of $4,049,449 or an increase of 2.95 percent.

CCSS’s operating revenues for the year increased $944,883 or 20.7% while operating expenses increased $695,312 or 14.93%.

During Fiscal Year 2008, CCSS

  • Awarded $30,000 to Jefferson City Transit to draw down additional federal funds for Handiwheels bus service to citizens of Jefferson City.

  • Awarded $12,000 to Kingdom Projects in Fulton, Missouri to enable the employment of 12 individuals from Cole County.

  • Awarded $20,000 to The Special Learning Center to continue services to children in Cole County who have developmental disabilities.

  • Paid $3,500 to put power entrance doors at the Administrative office to make it more accessible.

  • Purchased a vehicle for Case Management for $15,561.

  • Purchased a 4 wheel drive vehicle for $18,750 for Administrative use and to use to make sure CCRSI can get staff to and from facilities in heavy snow situations.

  • Awarded a grant to CCRSI of $10,456 for the purchase of a new copier.

  • Awarded a grant to CCRSI of $4,150 for desks and office equipment at Tanner Bridge to make the office work environment more efficient.

  • Funded 20.5% of 24 hour residential services for 52 citizens of Cole County, using the county funds coupled with state funds to draw down federal funds.

  • Provided up to $102,600 or 38.4% of operating costs to draw down $164,588 federal funds for services and supports for 16 citizens of Cole County at Easter Seals of Missouri's Adult Day Program.

  • Continued the effort to build cash reserves by adding $81,011 to the Reserve Fund (effectively increasing the fund to over $140,000).
